Gary Brown
CEO / Owner | [email protected]
Over 30 years, hundreds of stories, hundreds of friends and colleagues, many of them whose careers have been affected by Gary Brown. Considered one of the most respected leaders in local television news and known as an innovator, strategist, mentor and coach for many in our industry, Brown has a keen eye for spotting talent. Gary is the CEO and Owner of Talent Dynamics, his latest role in a long television news career, during which he has done every job imaginable. From shooting, editing, reporting, and liveshots (yes, he even did one from a chopper) to producing, management, two corporate roles, and he was even a talent agent. If there is a job in broadcast television, Gary Brown has done it. Now, he applies his years of contacts, eye for talent, and TV business insight for the benefit of Talent Dynamics clients and jobseekers throughout our industry.
Gary’s TV adventure took him through everything from going live in a chopper to producing the news to managing news teams. He’s been the news director in places like Steubenville, Providence, Hartford and San Diego, impacting careers and making friends in every corner. Eventually he moved up to VP of News for Newport television, where he oversaw news and marketing in 22 markets. After rocking a talent agent role for five years, Gary got the call to be VP of News for Meredith’s Local Media Group and then a year later a promotion to SVP of Content and played a key role in bringing People the TV Show! to life. When Meredith sold in 2021, Gary and his buddy Patrick McCreery founded Glass City Talent, LLC and scooped up Talent Dynamics in 2022, making it their mission to enhance the company’s talent database, and level up the industry’s on-camera performance training game.
